Studying in another country enhances your education. The Study Abroad program is open to students in any major. NIU students have enrolled in classes in 75 countries for stints as brief as several weeks or as long as a full academic year.
USOAR, or the Undergraduate Special Opportunities in Artistry and Research program, provides financial backing to student-initiated research projects on campus, throughout the country and even overseas.
URAP links up students with faculty members conducting exciting and important research. Students gain a mentor while honing their research skills.
The Honors Program offers an enriched educational experience for academically gifted students, both inside and outside the classroom.
If you are a strong student interested in continuing your education, you should seriously consider NIU’s Graduate School. Every department within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers master’s degrees, and many have a doctorate program as well.
Internships are a great way to gain practical experience in your chosen field while earning academic credit and, in many cases, a salary.
